Award winning Paci Restaurant
is owned and operated by chef Robert Patchen and his wife Donna. Nestled on the eastbound side
of the Southport train station in a renovated freight depot, Paci Restaurant combines old New
England architecture with a modern European style. Originally built in the mid 1800's the
renovation to the former freight depot is a careful blend of the past and present. Preserving
the authenticity of the existing structure and creating an elegant, clean minimalist interior,
Paci set the tone for a new modern style in restaurant dining. The exposed beams and an image
of a railroad-watch-style clock projected on the wall above the open-view kitchen along with
the silent passing of commuter trains makes Paci a one-of-a-kind dining experience. The unique
design won the New England and Connecticut award from the AIA and the 1997 National Award
of Excellence in Architecture and Interior Design from the James Beard Foundation. |
